Hello from Lake Jennings! Lake Jennings is excited to announce that we now have a downloadable topo map on our web page! Assembled by author and local fishing legend Jim Putney, it will have highlighted areas for specific target species. It will be updated seasonally as the fish move. Less exciting this past weekend was the fishing overall. The bass bite was a very early and very late affair. No swimbait fish reported. The trout were decidedly more difficult even though Mt. Lassen sweetened the pot on Tuesday. No one deliberately caught cats but some accidental cats came to trout anglers. A couple of trouters also caught bass on crawlers. There were even a couple of trolled Needlefish trout limits, but trolling is marginal at best.

Best Trout Spots: Eagle Point and Half Moon Cove.
Best Trout Bait: Chartreuse Power Bait or inflated crawlers fished with a water float.
Best Trout Lures: None.
Best Catfish Spots: Dam buoy line.
Best Catfish Lures/Bait: Bring chicken livers or we have mackerel, and fish deep.
Best Bass Spots: Close to shore on the points.
Best Bass Lures/Bait: Brown and black jigs and Ikas.
Notables: No quick limits or fish over 3 lbs. reported.
Prognosis: Spring is rapidly approaching. The elevator bass are moving up and down. Trout inventory is building with an additional Mt. Lassen shot in the arm of 1,200 lbs. on Tuesday. While the cats are still deep they should be moving shallow soon. The lake should be at the maximum level by next weekend.

Current Schedule: We will be open this Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 6:00 a.m. ??? 6:00 p.m.

FREE fishing classes: Lake Jennings Fishing University will hold a fishing class this Sunday at 1:00 p.m. The classes concentrate on what is working best. This week's class will cover bait fishing and Trout Teaser minijigs for trout. Most importantly, the classes are FREE! Ranger Hugh will be the professor.
