Stocking: We will be stocking 2,000 pounds of trout from Idaho this week! There are only three more stockings left until the end of trout season and we prepare for catfish season.

What's the catch?  Even though there was no trout stocking this week, there were still plenty of rainbows biting this weekend. Most were caught early morning in the shallows around the lake. Reports were scented powerbait (salmon peach salmon egg or garlic varieties) was the bait of choice, but our rangers also recommend an inflated garlic nightcrawler. Make sure to put enough air in it so that it floats! Night fishing this weekend brought out the catfish. Reports of bites in Siesta Cove and Point as well as Shadow Cove. You can't go wrong with mackerel or chicken livers.

Conditions: The lake is full and the water is well oxygenated throughout the water column with the temperature being 57 degrees. Ideal conditions for trout! The sun is rising at 6:59 a.m. and setting at 6:56 p.m. For a complete weather report in Lakeside, click HERE.
