  • Stocking: Catfish season opener will is this weekend! The lake will be stocked with 1,750 pounds from Alpine Fishery. The catfish stocking schedule has been released. You can view the schedule HERE.
  • What's the catch?  Until the water temperature reaches 72-73 degrees, you can expect trout to continue to bite. Some sizeable trout have been pulled out of the lake the past couple of weekends. Tried and true Powerbait is the bait to be using, although there were reports of trout biting on nightcrawlers too. This weekend was hot and the Redear were out in numbers. There were some schools around the boat dock and Cloister Cove this weekend. Fishermen were catching them on wax worms. The t-dock and campground shoreline were the places to fish for the cats. Mackerel is always a good bait for catching catfish. We are now carrying green garlic shrimp at the bait shop. Let them thaw in the sun for a little while so they're extra stinky before baiting your hook. Brush up on fishing for catfish for the opener this week by reading our quick and easy 'How To' guide.  Don't forget to send us pics of your catch! • LAKE HOURS ARE CHANGING - With the catfish opener comes night fishing! Beginning May 20th, the lake will be open every Friday and Saturday night until midnight. The entrance gate will close at 10:00 p.m. Lanterns required after sunset.
  • Memorial Day: The lake will be open on Monday, May 30th 6:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Boating, fishing, hiking, picnicking and more! The picnic areas around the lake are available on a first come, first served basis. Picnic areas include tables and BBQ grills.
  • Conditions: The aerator has been turned on for the season, so the water column will be more mixed and a consistent temperature. The surface temperature around the boat dock is 71 degrees. The sun is rising around 6:00 a.m. and setting around 7:45 p.m. For a complete weather report in Lakeside, click HERE.
  • Campground: Need a little mid-week R & R? The campground is the perfect place to watch the sunrise and get in some early morning shoreline fishing. Campsites are booking up quickly on the weekend, but we usually have sites available during the week. Book your campsite TODAY.
  • Have you seen our new bike service station at the campground? It has all of the tools you need to keep your bike tuned up for a ride around the campground trails.
