  • Stocking: Catfish season is upon us! The lake was stocked with 1,750 pounds from Alpine Fishery last week. The next stocking of 1,000 pounds will be the week of June 6th. The catfish stocking schedule has been released. You can view the schedule HERE
  • What's the catch?  The Bluegill and Redear bite was on fire this weekend! Anglers casting 20-30 feet from shore landed panfish up to 2 pounds. Wax worms and meal worms were the best bait. Our dockhands saw limits of Bluegill and catfish coming in from the boats. A few fishermen limited out on catfish in Hermit Cove this weekend. They were biting on anything from cut mackerel, nightcrawlers, shrimp, to chicken liver. Brush up on fishing for catfish by reading our quick and easy 'How To' guide. We even had a report of a trout caught on a shiny lure this weekend! Don't forget to send us pics of your catch! You can tag us @lakejennings on social media or email them to ranger@lakejennings.org
  • Memorial Day: The lake will be open on Monday, May 30th 6:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Boating, fishing, hiking, picnicking and more! We are offering $5 off of motorboat rentals. The picnic areas around the lake are available on a first come, first served basis. Picnic areas include tables and BBQ grills.
  • Conditions: The aerator has been turned on for the season, so the water column will be more mixed and a consistent temperature. The surface temperature around the boat dock is 71 degrees. The sun is rising around 6:00 a.m. and setting around 7:45 p.m. For a complete weather report in Lakeside, click HERE.
  • Campground: The campground shoreline is the perfect place to fish for catfish during the week. No camping reservations required! Sentry and Half Moon Cove are some of the most active coves for cats. The shoreline is open 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday-Friday.
  • Day use is available at the campground during the week! We have a couple of picnic areas to BBQ and enjoy the views - one at Sentry Point and the other near the campground entrance next to the horseshoe pits. Make a day of if and rent a horseshoe set for $20! The playground is also open to day users.
