  • Stocking: The lake was stocked with 1,700 pounds of trout the week of April 18th. A total of 20,000 pounds of trout was stocked this season! Catfish season opener will be the weekend of May 20-22 where 1, 750 pounds from Alpine Fishery will be stocked. The catfish stocking schedule has been released. You can view the schedule HERE.
  • What's the catch?  Limits of trout were caught around the Hermit Cove buoy line. Trout are still biting on powerbait and nightcrawlers. The Bluegill bite has been productive in the shallows around the lake. Several catches of 10-15 Bluegill were reported. Wax worms and crickets seem to be doing the trick! An 8 pound bass was caught on Senkos this weekend. Sounds like the bass bite continues to be active east of the t-dock and around Hermit Cove. Reports of catfish bites are coming in off the boats. Half Moon and Sentry Coves were the most productive for catfish this weekend. Don't forget to send us pics of your catch! You can tag us @lakejennings on social media or email them to ranger@lakejennings.org.
  • Conditions: The aerator has been turned on for the season, so the water column will be more mixed and a consistent temperature. The surface temperature around the boat dock is 68 degrees. The sun is rising around 6:05 a.m. and setting around 7:25 p.m. For a complete weather report in Lakeside, click HERE.
  • In Remembrance...Friday, May 13th would've been Ranger Bud Murray's 34th year of service at Lake Jennings. He loved teaching others how to fish and imparting a healthy respect for nature. To honor and remember his devotion to the lake, we are offering $2 off of fishing permits (youth, adult, senior, & military) on Friday, May 13th. Join us in remembrance of Ranger Bud.
  • Fireside by the Lake: Lakefront firepits are available again on Saturday, May 7th, 6 pm to 9pm. Rentals are $72 and include lake entrance for up to 6 people. Fishing permits sold separately. Wood, Adirondack chairs, and fire starter are provided. Advance reservations are required. Reserve your firepit HERE.
  • New Moon Fishing: The lake will be open for New Moon Fishing on Saturday, May 7th 6 am to 10pm. New Moon Fishing is not just for fishermen! Take a sunset hike, BBQ in one of our many picnic areas located around the lake, fish for one of our resident monster catfish, or enjoy a starlit boat ride. We hope you can join us!
  • WE'RE HIRING!! We are hiring part-time Dockhands ($15/hour) to work on the boat dock. Dockhands help maintain our boat rental fleet, provide excellent customer service, and other duties as assigned. We are also hiring a part-time Assistant Recreation Ranger ($16/hour) to work in the bait shop and help maintain the cleanliness/security of the property and facilities. Both positions work weekends and most holidays. Where else can you enjoy the sunrise and sunset, talk fishing, and watch the Bald Eagles play? For a complete job description and to apply visit HWD Career.
  • Campground: Some mothers like flowers, some like a massage, but moms who like camping are the best! Mother's Day is Sunday, May 8th. It's not too late to book a campsite for the weekend. Book your campsite TODAY.
  • Have you seen our new bike service station at the campground? It has all of the tools you need to keep your bike tuned up for a ride around the campground trails.
