Hello from Your Lake Jennings: The dropping lake still has the bass on the bank. It is an early bite and is over by 9:30. Creature baits and 11" worms drug off of the bank into the water. It should be fished painfully slow. Cats are still biting if you have a boat and are fishing 50 to 100 ft. deep. Chicken livers have been added to the list of successful baits.
Best Cat Spots: The dam buoyline and Hermit Cove buoyline.
Best Cat Bait: Chicken livers, mackeral and night crawlers. Use scent liberally.
Best Bass Spots: Target the bank, fish downhill with creature type baits.
Best Bass Lures /bait: . Ika's, big worms, and Senkos
Water Temp. 76 degrees on surface.
Notables: Thursday Charlie Woolsey, Oceanside, 8-9 bass, garlic flavored nightcrawler, Sentry Point. Sat., Mike Harris, San Diego, 8-13 bass, Senko, Hermit Cove.
Prognosis: We are nearing our target water temp for the trout. Our first trout plant should be on schedule for the week of October 19th. The lake will start dropping even faster which will further displace small fish and crawdads. So concentrate on the bank. We are bringing back our twilight boat rentals. Motorboats are $ 20.00 for the last 3 hours that we are open. So you can get a boat at 4 PM for $ 20.00. We are only 2 weeks away from the start of our trout season. Mt Lassen has developed a new strain of rainbow trout that they are calling the "Sierra Bow". Testing indicates they fight harder, bite better and taste better because they are red fleshed. http://www.mtlassentrout.com/sierrabow.html
The Lake Jennings Free Fishing University will be teaching cat fishing......

Lake Jennings Fish Report
Lake JenningsHello from Your Lake Jennings: We started dropping the lake level again and like years past larger bass showed up at the bank. Ika's, deadsticked morning dawn worms, and Senkos brought home the bacon for those targeting the bank. Last week's d/s in deep water made for empty livewells this week. However the bite is over by 9 AM. Cats still being caught at the buoyline Best Cat Spots: The...... Read More
Lake Jennings Fish Report
Lake JenningsHello from Your Lake Jennings: Catfishing Saturday had 2 stories. If you fished from shore you most likely had an empty stringer when you went home. If you fished from a boat at the main buoyline you took home limits of 1 to 3 lb. fish. Mackeral and worms worked equally well. The Bass continue to be difficult. The lake drop has been suspended for 2 weeks resulting in few fish being caught on creature baits. Topwater baits aren't...... Read More
