Hello from Your Lake Jennings: Most of the cat action was in Hermit Cove on Friday night and then moved to the Floating Boathouse Saturday night. No topwater all weekend and yet you can see shad at the surface everywhere. Some nice red ears have been eating meal worms and wax worms in 15 ft. of water but no limits. Overall we would say that fishing is just fair.

Best Cat Spots: Hermit Cove and floating boathouse. Best Cat Bait: Night crawlers. Use scent liberally.

Best Bass Spots: Eagle Point and Half Moon Cove in 25 to 30 ft. Topwater if and when you see them boil.
Best Bass Lures /bait: Dropshotting 4" worms. Frogs and Pop-R's.

Water Temp. Still 76 to 78 degrees on surface.

Notables: No fish over 3 lbs. reported

Prognosis: Remember that we do not open until 5 PM on Friday. The promised hot weather ought to really kick our warmwater fish into high gear this week. Also fishing at night is a great way to escape a hot house.

The Lake Jennings Free Fishing University will be teaching cat fishing......

Hello from Your Lake Jennings: We have put in a call to Sherlock Holmes. We suspect that Professor Moriarty has absconded with our fish. Dr. Watson concurs. To be sure a few remained, because some were caught, but only a few. A mixed bag it was, and most of the action was down in Hermit Cove. I believe 2 bass were caught on topwater all weekend and yet you can see shad at the surface everywhere. ...... Read More

Hello from Lake Jennings! After a hot bite for cats on Friday night we thought we were in for a great weekend of fishing. We were wrong. The rest of the weekend was a bust. The hottest spot was Hermit Cove. There were a lot of limits but all the fish were between 1 and 2 lbs. No biggies were reported. The bass bite was also lackluster. Both at the surface and deep. Average was 1 bass per rod. Best Catfish Spots: Hermit Cove, and any...... Read More
