Hello from Your Lake Jennings: We have put in a call to Sherlock Holmes. We suspect that Professor Moriarty has absconded with our fish. Dr. Watson concurs. To be sure a few remained, because some were caught, but only a few. A mixed bag it was, and most of the action was down in Hermit Cove. I believe 2 bass were caught on topwater all weekend and yet you can see shad at the surface everywhere. Catfishing can be described as a catastrophe with catches averaging .333333 fish per angler. Red ears have not been listening to the Siren's call of our mealworms and waxworms.
Best Cat Spots: Hermit Cove, and any of the coves in the brush. Use 20 lb test and horse them out of the cover.
Best Cat Bait: Night crawlers and mackerel. Use scent liberally.
Best Bass Spots: Eagle Point and Half Moon Cove in 25 to 30 ft. Topwater when you see them boil.
Best Bass Lures /bait: Dropshotting 4" worms. Frogs and Pop-R's.
Water Temp. Still 73 to 74 degrees on surface.
Notables: No fish over 3 lbs. reported
Prognosis: Remember that we do not open until 5 PM on Friday. We will prime the pump with another 1000 lbs. of Rock and Fish Ranch catfish on Friday. Hopefully Mr. Holmes will solve our problem.......
The Lake Jennings Free Fishing University will be teaching cat fishing......

Lake Jennings Fish Report
Lake JenningsHello from Lake Jennings! After a hot bite for cats on Friday night we thought we were in for a great weekend of fishing. We were wrong. The rest of the weekend was a bust. The hottest spot was Hermit Cove. There were a lot of limits but all the fish were between 1 and 2 lbs. No biggies were reported. The bass bite was also lackluster. Both at the surface and deep. Average was 1 bass per rod. Best Catfish Spots: Hermit Cove, and any...... Read More
