Hello from Lake Jennings! The bite cooled a little bit for the trout. The same areas produced fish but limits were down. The average was 2 per rod. Bass are everywhere but big girls are playing hide and seek. Lots of males being caught. Brush hogs have been excellent. Cats are scattered all over the place but no big blues have shown up. The key is do what the cats are doing - move, move, and move.

Best Trout Spots: Half Moon Cove and Cactus Patch.
Best Trout Lures/Bait: Inflated crawlers on a 2 ft. leader dipped in scent.

Best Catfish Spots: No place
Best Catfish Bait: Night crawlers and mackerel. Use scent liberally.

Best Bass Spots: Every 15 ft. along the shore
Best Bass Lures/Bait: It is jig time using creature baits. Swimbaits have not been working.

Notables: No fish over 3 lbs. or limits under 1 hour.

Prognosis: Mt. Lassen will deliver another 1000 lbs of trout on Tuesday. The full moon should have large numbers of bass in full spawning mode.

Water Temperature: 62 to 63 degrees on surface.

Current Schedule: We will be open daily this Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 6:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.

Long leaders, short leaders, any color Power Bait or Night crawlers put trout in the frying pan. Male bass are bedding everywhere but the big girls are being shy. Only small (1 to 2 lb.) catfish are being caught at the buoyline. It is time to start exploring the...... Read More
