Hello from Your Lake Jennings: The bite continues to be lackluster for all species. In fact we are starting a vaccination program for our fish to eliminate lockjaw. The bass should be moving uphill. The cats should not be too far behind as evidenced by 1 being caught under the bird trees. The trout are really moving around. One week it is Cactus Patch and then next week they are in Shadow Cove or off of Sentry Point.

Best Trout Spots: Shadow Cove and the concrete steps.
Best Trout Lures / Bait: Inflated crawlers on a 2 ft. leader dipped in scent and drifted down the water column using a water float.

Best Cat Spots: The dam buoyline.
Best Cat Bait: Night crawlers are out fishing mackerel. Use scent liberally.

Best Bass Spots: Off the points dropshotting in 25 to 35 ft. water.
Best Bass Lures /bait: It is jig time using creature baits.

Water Temp.: 60 to 61 degrees on surface.

Notables: No fish over 3 lbs or limits under 1 hour.

Prognosis: Another Mt Lassen 1000 lbs. of trout will arrive on Tuesday of this week. There is a warming trend forecasted for the end of the week but the forecasters have been wrong for thast couple of weeks. Also note that we have changed our hours.

The Lake Jennings Free Fishing University will be teaching bait fishing for trout at 1 PM on Sunday.

Hello from Your Lake Jennings: No excuses, fishing was poor. In the trout dept. all we did was add to inventory. A few bass were caught on points and a few cats were caught at the buoyline. Some bass have been observed moving up in the afternoon but no one can make them bite. Best Trout Spots: Hermit Cove buoyline and the west side of Eagle Point. Best Trout Lures / Bait: Inflated crawlers on a 2 ft. leader dipped...... Read More

Hello from Your Lake Jennings: " Wind from the East fish bite least. Wind from the West fish bite best." Isn't it funny how some sayings are based in fact. When you factor in the full moon it is no wonder a lot of anglers went home with empty stringers. As always a few trout limits came in. The concrete steps, the flat west of Eagle Point and Shadow Cove had those bragging rights. Overall there was little...... Read More
