  • It's official! Trout Season is here! The Trout Opener is Friday, November 15th through November 17th. Wrights Rainbows of Idaho is once again stocking our lake this year. We will be stocking biweekly reaching a total of 20,000 lbs. for the season! 
  • 2,500 lbs. were stocked this season by Wrights and another 500 lbs. came from Dept. of Fish and Wildlife. This means there are 3,000 lbs.already in the lake! Average size is about 1.25 lbs. and 10% of every stocking this season are over 3 lbs! Check out the stocking schedule HERE!
  • Trout Tip: When it comes to using live bait for trout nothing beats a good old fashioned inflated nightcrawler. Along with nightcrawlers, try salmon peach or rainbow Powerbait which should snag you a few for dinner! The bait shop is stocked up and ready to go for trout season already!
  • Did you know? A trout can see out of both corners of its eyes simultaneously, meaning they can see in almost every direction at once!
  • The lake's Hours of Operation changed beginning Friday, November 8th, 6:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. 
  • Bass have been slow this past week but now that trout are here they should be out and about looking for their next meal! That means it is swimbait time!
  • Catfish limits last week were pulled out of Cloister Cove on cut mackerel. The season isn't over yet!
  • If you are missing summertime night fishing, mark your calendars for the next New Moon Fishing on November 23rd when the lake will be open until 10 p.m.
  • It is almost time for the holidays too--if you're not cooking a turkey this year come on out to the lake on Thanksgiving Day! The whole lake will be open from 6:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Maybe you can take some trout home for dinner!
