Lake Jennings Weekly Catch and Release July 28, 2008 July 27, 2008 For Immediate Catch and Release

Hello from Your Lake Jennings: Do you own a Xerox machine? This weeks report is almost an exact copy of last week except for the notable catch and prognosis.
We had another nice blue cat caught at Eagle Point but overall the cat action was hit and miss. The bass action was miss and hit. No one pattern is working well. The most successful anglers are constantly changing patterns even if they stick a bass. Don't hang your hat on that one pattern because you'll hang your head because that will be the only one you catch. Red ears and crappie are equally difficult.

Best Trout Spots: None
Best Trout Lures / Bait: None
Best Cat Spots: Simply the backs of the coves and anywhere there is brush.
Best Cat Bait: Shrimp or mackerel. Use scent liberally.

Best Bass Spots: Dawn and dusk tight on the bank. Daylight finds them in 20 to 30 ft. off the points chasing shad.
Best Bass Lures /bait: 4" pumpkin senkos or shad worms with the occasional Bass Assasin taking fish.
Water Temp. 77 to 79 degrees

Notables: Fri., Josh Price, Lakeside, 10-12 channel cat, Hermit Cove very close to shore, mackerel.

Prognosis: Another 1000 lbs of Fish Producer cats will start swimming in the lake on Thursday. Most of the cats will continue to hang close to shore but it won't be long until they start moving to deeper water. The bass are refusing to bite consistently on the surface. D-shot worms are the best bet
