Hello from Lake Jennings! The action continues to revolve around the cats. (Duh!!!) They are up close and personal in the brush. Some of the local kids have been slamming them by flylining shrimp. The bass are all over with no real specific pattern. A few are caught on the surface mid-lake. A few are being taken by throwing Bass Assassins on the bank and working them back. Then there are those

Bass that are suspended 30 ft. down off the points. Forget about those they will not bite.

Best Trout Spots: None

Best Trout Lures/Bait: None

Best Catfish Spots: Cloister Cove, the Sentry quarry and anywhere there is brush.

Best Catfish Bait: Shrimp or mackerel. Use scent liberally.

Best Bass Spots: Dawn and dusk tight on the bank. Daylight finds them in 20 to 30 ft. off the points chasing shad.

Best Bass Lures/Bait:Frogs, Pop R's and 4" pumpkin senkos or shad worms.

Notables: Fri., Richard Jensen, San Diego, 3-0 channel cat, mackerel, Eagle Point. Fri., Andy Moreau, Santee, 10-6 blue cat, anchovy, Cloister Cove. Sat., Zac Conner, Lakeside, 6-6 channel cat, mackerel, launch ramp. Sat., Troy Earehart, Alpine, 7-2 largemouth, 5" black Power Worm, Hermit Cove.

Prognosis: Fish Producers will bring 1,000 lbs. of their tasty whisker fish on Thursday. Shrimp seems to be the preferred bait lately. Bring your own because we don't sell them. Best bet for bass is early or late for a few topwater fish. Shiners are your best bet during the other times in 30 ft. of water. Water Temperature: 77-79 degrees.

Current Night Fishing Schedule: We will be open Friday from 5:00 p.m. ??? 12:00 a.m., Saturday from 5:30 a.m. ??? 12:00 a.m. and Sunday from 5:30 a.m. ??? 8:30 p.m.

Discounted Sunday Boat Rental: We have a twilight special for our motorboats. After 4:00PM on Sundays, motorboats can be rented for $20.00. That gives you over 4 hours of primetime fishing.
