Hello from your Lake Jennings! No changes in the trout department. Trolling continues to be good for trout between the boat dock and the fishing float. The Cactus Patch and over in Sentry Cove are producing trout from a boat using Power Bait or Gulp. The bass are in transition. The majority of the bass have moved back away from shore into 15 to 25 ft. of water. Swim baits have been effective on those fish. Drop-shotting worms in the brush are still nailing guardian males. The red ears are spawning. Channel cats are close to shore and under the trees.
Best Trout Spots: The boat dock, fishing float and buoy line triangle.
Best Trout Lures/Bait: Needlefish and Rapalas for trolling and night crawlers 6' under a bobber.
Best Catfish Spots: The floating boathouse and the bird trees.
Best Catfish Lures/Bait: Anywhere there is brush in the water.
Best Bass Spots: On the bank in 5 ft. of water in brush and under trees.
Best Bass Lures/Bait: Drop-shotting 4" worms. Swim baits.
Notables: No fish over 3 lbs reported or limits in 30 minutes.
Water Temperature: 65-68 degrees.
Prognosis: The hot bite for trout will continue while inventories remain high.Cats and red ears are being caught on the bank. Bass Assassins drug off the bank produced some nice reaction bites from the bass. Some nice bass being caught on swim baits.

Lake JenningsLake Jennings Weekly Catch and Release February 19, 2008 Hello from Lake Jennings! The trout bite has been almost exclusively from a boat using Power Bait on a 4' leader. The only shore spots were the concrete steps in Hermit Cove and walking back into Half Moon. The lake dropped 5 degrees to 55, and that has the bass back out in deeper water, and it also slowed their enthusiasm. The cat spots remain the big buoy line and the...... Read More
