Lake Jennings Weekly Catch and Release
February 19, 2008
Hello from Lake Jennings! The trout bite has been almost exclusively from a
boat using Power Bait on a 4' leader. The only shore spots were the concrete
steps in Hermit Cove and walking back into Half Moon. The lake dropped 5
degrees to 55, and that has the bass back out in deeper water, and it also slowed
their enthusiasm. The cat spots remain the big buoy line and the floating
boathouse.
Best Trout Spots: Eagle Point, Cactus Patch and HC triangle and Half Moon all from a boat.
Best Trout Lures/Bait: Power Bait and Gulp on a 4' leader.
Best Catfish Spots: The floating boathouse and dam buoy line.
Best Catfish Bait: Bring mackerel or mackerel.
Best Bass Spots: Half Moon Cove and in 25 ft. of water off the points. Fish slow.
Best Bass Lures/Bait: Drop-shotting 4" pink worms. Ikas and Gitzits. Crawdads.
Notables: No fish over 3 lbs. or limits under 30 minutes reported.
Prognosis: Mt. Lassen will bring us another 1,200 lbs of trout on Friday, February 22nd. The forecasted
storm later this week may forestall the bass moving into the shallows. So throw swim baits and jigs
deep.
Water Temperature: 55 degrees.
Current Schedule: We will be open this Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 5:45 a.m. ??? 6:15 p.m.
Offer Extended! Discounted Boat Rental: We have created a twilight special for our motorboats. After 3:00PM motorboats can be rented for $20.00. That gives you over 3 hours of primetime fishing.
Public Invited To Attend FREE Fishing Classes
Lake Jennings Fishing University will hold a fishing class this Sunday at 1:00 p.m. The classes concentrate on what is working best. This week's class will talk about fishing trout. Most importantly, the classes are FREE! Ranger Hugh will be the professor.

Lake Jennings Fish Report 02-11-2008
Lake JenningsHello from YourLake Jennings:Fishing here has been a reel (sic) head scratcher. The water temp. is a balmy 60 degrees and the male bass can be seen cruising the shoreline but the bite is difficult at best. We also have not had a big swimbait bass so far this year!!! The trout have moved away from shore making boats a better bet. Yet there is only a marginal trolling bite. The cats did not want to bite until late afternoon....... Read More
Lake Cuyamaca Fish Report 01-20-2008
Lake CuyamacaSeasons Greetings from Lake Cuyamaca: Windy and Cold conditions kept most anglers away last week. Those who were dunking bait had success. For bait: try the always successful inflated night crawlers with "SCENT" or dough baits. Patient anglers are catching limits of mixed sized trout. There are still Five Tagged "Alpers" Trout good for a "Day on the Lake" gift certificate are waiting for you. ...... Read More
