Hello from your Lake Jennings! The trout finally decided to cooperate but the really hot bite is the cats. Just drop your bait to the bottom at the buoy line or Eagle Point and you are bit. The trout are being caught from shore in Cloister cove and the fishing float on chartreuse Power Bait and Gulp. The bass are hiding, probably full of trout.

Best Trout Spots: Cloister cove and the fishing float.

Best Trout Lures/Bait: Chartreuse Power Bait and Gulp.

Best Catfish Spots: The buoy lines and Eagle Point.

Best Catfish Lures/Bait: Bring shrimp and night crawlers. Fish deep.

Best Bass Spots: 30 ft. of water off the points.

Best Bass Lures/Bait: Crawdads and split-shotted reapers

Notables: No fish over 3 lbs. or limits under 30 minutes.

Water Temperature: 67 degrees.

Prognosis: We will stock 1,200 lbs of Mt Lassen's finest trout on November 9th, but I would concentrate on the best cat bite of the season.

Current Schedule:We'll be open this Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 5:45 a.m. ??? 5:15 p.m.

FREE fishing classes: Lake Jennings Fishing University will hold a fishing class this Sunday at 1:00 p.m. The classes concentrate on what is working best. This week's class will cover trout and catfish. Most importantly, the classes are FREE! Ranger Hugh will be the professor.

Hello from your Lake Jennings! The water temp is down to 68 degrees and we actually had some trout caught by trollers. Small Rapalas worked the best and as a bonus produced some small bass. They did not want bait. Most of the bass came from 30 ft. of water. A few fish came from the bank and the surface but were notably small. Cats continue to cruise the buoy line but it is only fair. Hello from your Lake Jennings! The lake continues to drop at a rate of 3 ft. per week, and this has the bass moving shallow at dawn and dusk. Crawdad imitations have been effective because the crawdads don't like being left high and dry. The cats reported came from 60 ft. and deeper.
