Hello from your Lake Jennings!

The weather really through things for a spin but we definitely need the rain so no complaints. Not too many anglers this past weekend so not too much to share. Keep in mind that shore fishing is open every day from the shoreline below the Campground. Permits can be purchased from the Station at the Campground at 7:30 AM. Fishing without a permit is not allowed. Campers can purchase their permit the day before and start just before sunrise so take advantage of catching the early morning bite. The Lake Jennings 1st Annual "Tagged Trout" event runs through the end of March or until all tagged trout are caught so don't miss out on some great prizes. We will stock tagged fish next week and that was our last scheduled Trout Stocking but it's looking like Mt. Lassen may provide one more mid-March to help out the "Tagged Trout" event but check back next week to know for sure.

Best Trout Spots: All the Coves and Trolling (slow at surface).
Best Trout Lures/Bait: PowerBait, PowerWorms, Mini Jigs and Nightcrawlers.

Best Bass Spots: Points in 10' to 20' of water with rock piles and the shorelines around the lake.
Best Bass Lures/Bait: Jigs and Swimbaits.

Best Catfish Spots: Deeper waters and the buoyline at the tower.
Best Catfish Bait: Mackerel, Chicken Liver, or Dough Bait.

Best Wiper Spots: Deep waters.
Best Wiper Lures/Bait: Live Shiners, Chicken Liver and frozen Anchovies.

Prognosis:Lake Jennings will continue to stock trout up to 12 pounds in size and the bite is expected to continue. We should start to see more "Tagged Trout" come in with the increase of tags being stocked. Bass are expected to continue moving in close so try Jigs and Swimbaits.

Water Temperature: 59 degrees.

Shore fishing below the campground is available by purchasing permits at the Campground Check-In station Monday thru Thursday 7:30 AM to 5:00 PM. Fishing without a permit is not allowed. Campers can purchase their permit the day before and start just before sunrise.
