Hello from your Lake Jennings!
The warmer temperature was supposed to help out the catfish and bass bite but the temps went a bit off the charts. With that said the red ears and red ear hybrids cooperated well for those who could tolerate the heat fishing mid-day. As expected, the bite did improve some for both the catfish and bass. The bass fishing was best early morning and after dark and the cat fishing was best after dark.

Best Catfish Spots: Hermit Cove parking lot 1 & 2
Best Catfish Bait: Nightcrawlers and Mackerel
Best Bass Spots: Points in 25' to 30' of water
Best Bass Lures/Bait: Dropshot morning dawn worms
Best Pan Fish Spots: End of Cloister Cove (North end of Bird Trees) and Half Moon Cove
Best Pan Fish Bait: Wax Worms and Meal Worms.

Prognosis: The bite is expected to improve for all the above as summer moves forward. Warmer waters should continue to improve fishing especially a top water bite for bass.

Water Temperature: 78 degrees on surface
