Hello from Your Lake Jennings: A very few trout are being caught in Shadow Cove before 8 AM by fishing  ? a nightcrawler below a red and white bobber.

There are lots of male bass still on the bank. Dropshotting 4" worms in the morning dawn color scheme produced some numbers of bass in the 1 lb. range. Larger fish have suspended off the points but move up to 20' in the evenings. Guys either Texas rigging or Carolina rigging small worms in the green colors reported catching some nicer fish to 4 lbs.

What should have been the stars are the catfish. They only played a supporting role. As usual, the backs of the coves tight to brush was the place to cast your bait.

Best Trout Spots: Shadow Cove
Best trout Bait/Lures: Nightcrawler.
Best Cat Spots: The backs of the coves where there is submerged brush.
Best Cat Bait: Mackerel and chicken livers. Use scent liberally.
Best Bass Spots: Eagle and Sentry Pts. and the Shadow cove buoyline casting towards the dam.
Best Bass Lures/Bait: Small purple and pink worms on the bank and green out deep.
Water Temp: 73 degrees.

Prognosis: Warming water should get the cats' appetites going. It appears that we had a great shad spawn. With some luck maybe we will see some early topwater bass action.

Speaking of bass, take a minute to watch...... Read More
