Hello from Your Lake Jennings:
We didn't have a whole lot of rain but just enough to stir up the water in Hermit Cove which helped in drawing in the catfish. Friday we had several limits caught throughout the night while Saturday, Sunday, and Monday slowed down a bit plenty were still caught. The Bass are in transition and are moving off the points. Redears continue to bite in the back of the coves using wax worms with a small hook. The lake is open until midnight every Fridays and Saturday throughout summer.

Best Trout Spots: Shadow Cove and the fishing float.
Best Trout Bait/Lures: Nightcrawlers and Power Bait.
Best Cat Spots: Bird Trees and Hermit Cove.
Best Cat Bait: Mackerel and nightcrawlers. Use scent liberally.
Best Bass Spots: Coves and off the points.
Best Bass Lures/Bait: Texas rigged Creature Baits, Brush Hogs and Crawdads.
Water Temp.: 68 degrees on the surface.

Prognosis: Catfish continue to move to the shorelines and make their way to the back of the coves looking for spawning grounds. As warmer days approach a topwater bite should start. If you plan on camping in the coming months make your reservations soon. Remember you can reserve up to 1 year in advance.
