Hello from Your Lake Jennings:
The trout bite is improving if you are a troller. 2 strategies are getting limits. Toplining orange Power Worms or silver Rapalas and the best is leadcore trolling at 30ft. with a nightcrawler. Shore fishing is not as good, but Eagle Cove is your best bet. Guys fishing ice jigs and dropshotting uphill are doing well. The top 4 ft. of the lake is 60 degrees and anything below 4 ft. is 57 degrees. For you prespawn bassers, I predict we will have fish spawning in mid-February.
Best Trout Spots: Out in the middle of the lake.
Best Trout Bait/Lures: Crawler/orange Power Worm combo dipped in Pautzke nectar and salmon peach Power Bait.
Best Cat Spots: Cloister Cove and the buoyline.
Best Cat Bait: Mackerel and chicken livers. Use scent liberally.
Best Bass Spots: The west side of Sentry and Eagle Point also the riprap that parallels the launch ramp. Be sure that you are fishing in 40 ft. of water.
Best Bass Lures/Bait: Ice jigs and 4" worms on a dropshot.
Water Temp: 60 degrees.
Prognosis: We will stock again on Thursday with 1000 lbs of Sierra Bows. The trout bite is getting better.

1-29-2012Hello from Your Lake Jennings: 2 big trout (for us) showed up on Saturday and we are not sure how they got here. We typically stock only 1 to 2 lbers. These were in the 5 lb. range. Trolling can get you a limit but you will earn it. The best spot for shore anglers is Eagle Cove. Cats are still being caught deep. The top 4 ft. of the lake is 60 degrees and anything below ...... Hello from Your Lake Jennings: Trollers started to get limits but it took awhile. There was a good late afternoon bite using rainbow PowerBait at Eagle Point. The trick is to use a water float to get out into deeper water. Cats continue to provide table fare but you need a boat. Bass anglers are getting 1 to 3 fish by fishing in 40 to 60 ft. water . Jigs and texas rigged baits on the...... Read More
