Hello from Your Lake Jennings:
The worm has turned! Last week, bankies did better than boaters on trout. Trollers hands down did better this weekend. The best trolling area was staying out in the middle of the arms and buoy area using crawler orange Power Worm combo. The trout when cleaned were stuffed full of shad. Bass anglers are earning their one's, two and threes either dropshotting or Texas rigged. Don't forget: We will be open on Martin Luther King Day next Monday!

Best Trout Spots:
In the middle of the lake.

Best trout Bait/Lures:
Crawler orange Power Worm combo dipped in Pautzke nectar.

Best Cat Spots:
Sentry Point and the buoyline.

Best Cat Bait:
Mackerel and chicken livers. Use scent liberally.

Best Bass Spots:
The west side of Sentry and Eagle Point also the riprap that parallels the launch ramp.

Best Bass Lures/Bait:
Creature baits and 4" morning dawn worms.

Water Temp: 59 degrees.

Prognosis:
We will stock again on Thursday with 1000 lbs of Sierra Bows. It is finally looking like boats are the way to go as the trout chase shad out in the middle.

The Lake Jennings Free Fishing University:
Will be teaching the floating bait method for Sierra Bows trout. ...1 PM next Sunday.

You will be able to purchase permits for shore fishing on the campground side after 8 AM. Trout fishing was just OK. It was actually better in the afternoon than the...... Read More

Hello from Your Lake Jennings: The trout bite continues to improve, including the trolling bite. Last years' special orange Power Worm tipped a a 1" piece of night crawler is starting to kick out limits thought it generally takes all morning. Shore anglers are having the best luck using 18" leaders and rainbow Power bait or inflated crawlers. No one fished for channel cats so no report. The bass are their usual difficult selves. The ones...... Read More
