We stocked our first 1000 lbs of Mt. Lassen's Sierra 'Bows on Wed. October 26th. For the most part the trout promptly disappeared. Trollers had no success. Guys dropshotting for bass off the fishing float with 4" worms nailed a couple of trout. As predicted the trout anglers caught a fair amount of cats. The bass bite was not quite as good as last week but what we said last week still applies. The bass are hanging in 25' to 35' on the weedline.
Best Trout Spots: None
Best trout Bait/Lures: None
Best Cat Spots: Cloister Cove ( Bird trees), and south side of the buoyline.
Best Cat Bait: Mackerel and chicken livers. Use scent liberally.
Best Bass Spots: The west side of Sentry and Eagle Point also the riprap that parallels the launch ramp.
Best Bass Lures/Bait: Ikas, Dropshotting Arron's Magic or Morning Dawn 7" worms.
Water Temp: 72 degrees on surface
Prognosis: We will stock every week for the next 23 weeks. The trout bite should improve each week as we build inventory. Don't forget about our bass and cats. This in my opinion is prime time for those species.

Lake Jennings will be planting Trout on Oct. 26
Lake JenningsFinally the fever broke and the lake temp. has dropped to 73 degrees. So we will stock our first 1000 lbs of Mt. Lassen's Sierra 'Bows on Wed. October 26th. Looking back at several years of fish reports find that the trout anglers also catch a fair amount of cats. Bass anglers also know that the bass move to the points often with fish of similar size. So if you catch 1's or 2's...... Read More
Catfish are the center of attention at Lake Jennings
Lake JenningsThe cats are providing the most consistent action. Fishing in 60 to 80 ft and even deeper are providing frying pan material. The topwater action is hit and miss. The bass aren't driving the shad to the surface. Blind casting and asking the fish god for divine intervention might get you 1 fish. The best bet is fishing the points either dropshotting or texas rigged crawdad imitations. Best Cat Spots: Cloister Cove (Bird...... Read More
