The cats are providing the most consistent action. Fishing in 60 to 80 ft and even deeper are providing frying pan material. The topwater action is hit and miss. The bass aren't driving the shad to the surface. Blind casting and asking the fish god for divine intervention might get you 1 fish. The best bet is fishing the points either dropshotting or texas rigged crawdad imitations.

Best Cat Spots:
Cloister Cove (Bird trees), and south side of the buoyline.

Best Cat Bait:
Mackerel and chicken livers. Use scent liberally.

Best Bass Spots:
The west side of Sentry and Eagle Point also the riprap that parallels the launch ramp.

Best Bass Lures/Bait:
Ikas, Dropshotting Arron's Magic or Morning Dawn 7" worms.

Water Temp:
76 degrees on surface

Prognosis:
We anticipate our trout stocking to begin the week of October 24th but may start earlier if the water temp drops below 74 degrees. See schedule below.

Bass are being caught blind casting topwater until 9 AM and then concentrate on the points fishing uphill, 20' to 35' deep. Cats are also being caught casting to the riprap and buoyline 60' to 100' deep. Best Cat Spots: Cloister Cove...... Read More

Think rocks. The guys that are casting to the rocky bottom (25' to 30') and working up into the weeds get bit right at the weedline by the bass. This coincides with the annual crawdad bite. What is different is we are at full pool . Normally we are in the process of dropping the lake which in turn displaces the crawdads. What we think is happening now is the bass are watching the weed edge for their...... Read More
