Hello from your Lake Jennings. The best bet this weekend was the trout. They liked rainbow Power Bait best but nightcrawlers also worked at the usual spots. Cats were just so - so. The bass were nonexistent. No swimbait fish were reported.

Best Trout Spots: Eagle Point was better than Cactus Patch. Sentry Point also kicked out some limits.

Best Trout Lures/Bait: Rainbow Power Bait on 3 to 4 ft. leaders moved constantly.br>
Best Cat Spots: The buoyline off Eggert Point.

Best Cat Bait: Mackerel and nightcrawlers. Use scent liberally.

Best Bass Spots: None.

Best Bass Lures/Bait: None.

Water Temp: 62 degrees on surface.

Notables: No fish over 3 lbs or limits under 30 min.

Prognosis: We will again stock 1000 lbs of Sierra 'Bows on Tuesday. Bring crawdads if you want bass. The cats will continue to bite if you fish deep water.

Lake Jennings Fishing University will hold a fishing class this Sunday at 1:00 p.m. The classes concentrate on what is working best. This week's class will talk about trout. Most importantly, the classes are free. Ranger Hugh will be the professor. We will be open every day from Christmas Eve through January 2, 2011.
