Hello from your Lake Jennings. The Bass continue to bite along with the catfish and some anglers getting limits. Keep in mind that our Lake Record of a 68 pound catfish was caught on Halloween in 2004 and this time of the year offers some of the best fishing for catfish. Due to high demand and low temperatures we are kicking off our Trout Season this week with 2,000 pounds of Sierra Bow trout. We will then skip a week and pick back up with 1,000 pounds every week there after for 25 weeks of great fishing.

Best Cat Spots: Hermit Cove (Concrete Steps) and Bouyline.
Best Cat Bait: Mackerel, Use scent liberally.
Best Bass Spots: Target the banks.
Best Bass Lures/bait: 7" Worms, Senkos and Ika's.
Water Temp: 76 degrees on surface.

Notables: Fri., Robert Throckmorton, La Mesa, 1-4 Bluegill, Crawdad, Siesta Point; Sat., Gary Adams, El Cajon, 12-12 Catfish and a limit, Chicken Liver, Hermit Cove (Concrete Steps); Sat., Michelle Winter Nolte, San Diego, 3-4 Catfish, Mackerel, Half Moon Cove; Sun., Jackie Hale, Lakeside, 3-12 and 4-4 Lg. Mouth Bass, Mudsuckers, Eagle Cove.

Prognosis: It's time again to bring back our Twilight Boat rentals for the last part of the day. That's a motorboat rental for only $20.00 from 4pm to closing. Trout Season has come early and we will start this Friday, October 15th. We start with 2,000 pounds of Mt. Lassen trout, if you are not familiar with this "Sierra Bow" check out: http://www.mtlassentrout.com/sierrabow.html

As the Bass continue to indulge this was a great weekend to toss a line out. With several notables caught bets were that the prize catch would be with a crawdad, and those in favor won. Have a second rod ready if you want to get the early morning boils. Cats continue to be caught though no limits were reported. Don't forget that Trout Season is approaching quickly and we will be stocking Mt. Lassen's new...... Read More
