Cats...what will they do next? Typically they are expected to be deep (I'm sure most of them are) though a hungry bunch provided limits back in Hermit Cove this weekend. The bass bite really picked up, we had fish caught on just about any jerkbait that was tossed into a boil around the 80-100 ft. of water. Grassy areas and spots with structure continue to produce using anything resembling crawdads and colors such as purple and neon blue. We still have one month remaining until the start of our Trout season but the trout are getting anxious. Can you believe two were caught this weekend from the last trout season? Mt. Lassen's new "Sierra Bow" still amazes me. This is an exciting trout all around.
Make your reservation online today to enjoy the weather and a relaxing time at the campground. Expecting a warm start this week but it should taper down after a couple of days. http://www.lakejennings.org
Best Catfish Spots: Shadow Cove and the buoy line.
Best Catfish Bait: Mackerel, Use scent liberally
Best Bass Spots: 15 - 20 ft on all the points.
Best Bass Lures /bait: Jerkbaits and anything resembling crawdads. 6" or 8" worms on the dropshot.
Water Temp.: 78 degrees on the surface.
Notables: Tue. (camper), Brian Akerson, San Diego, 4-4 blue cat, shiner, Sentry Point.
Prognosis: Take advantage of the water level being low and make a note of all the structure that has been put into place including the rock piles, later on this can give you an edge on the rest of them. It's time again to bring back our Twilight Boat rentals for the last 3 hours we are open. That's a motorboat rental for only $20.00 from 4pm to closing. For more information on the Mt. Lassen trout visit: http://www.mtlassentrout.com/sierrabow.html

Lake JenningsThe Cats took a break this weekend. There were some at the bouyline and some in shadow Cove and there may have been more but the fisherman took a break as well. Those anglers that did catch some were using nightcrawlers. You can get the Bass to bite if you fish for them in the 15'-20' depth and hit up the grassy areas. There are some frequent boils going on as the shad are being...... Read More
