The Cats took a break this weekend. There were some at the bouyline and some in shadow Cove and there may have been more but the fisherman took a break as well. Those anglers that did catch some were using nightcrawlers. You can get the Bass to bite if you fish for them in the 15'-20' depth and hit up the grassy areas. There are some frequent boils going on as the shad are being chased but your best bet is to use anything resembling crawdads. I know that some of the larger bass are gorging on them right now. Dropshot using 6" - 8" worms or Brush Hogs in the same depth can produce bites as well. We had a very pleasant week and weekend at the campground so reserve your site today if you want to take advantage of this great weather.
Best Catfish Spots: Shadow Cove and the buoy line.
Best Catfish Bait: Mackerel, Use scent liberally
Best Bass Spots: 15 - 20 ft on all the points.
Best Bass Lures /bait: Anything resembling a crawdad, Ika's and Dropshot 6" or 8" worms. Have a spoon ready when the fish boil and flutter it.
Water Temp.: 78 degrees on the surface.
Notables: No fish over 3 lbs. (that were officially weighed in) or limits under 1 hour.
Prognosis: Remember that our night fishing is done until next season. Our trout season will begin as soon as the water temp is below 74 degrees. Mt. Lassen will provide us the same as last season, their new rainbow trout called the "Sierra Bow". This new strain fights harder since they are full finned, bites better and taste better (ruby red meat). Watch for the upcoming trout stocking schedule.
Lake Jennings Fishing University will hold a free fishing class this Sunday at 1:00 p.m. For more info, you can call Lake Jennings at (619)390-1300 or visit us online at www.lakejennings.org. Lake Jennings Campground now has WiFi at every campsite.

Lake Jennings Fishing Report
Lake JenningsHello from Your Lake Jennings. Catfishing was not so great during our first weekend of ? hr before sunrise to ? hour after sunset and our turnout was just as bad. Cats continue to move to deeper waters and a boat is a must. On the brighter side, some top water action and free lining was reported by those with good timing and patience. The bite should get better as the lake continues to drawdown and...... Read More
