Hello from Your Lake Jennings. This was our last weekend of Night Fishing and the bite was fairly well with some anglers catching limits. Cats continue to be a better bite, but a boat is almost a must. They are running 40' to 100' deep. Bass too are being found deeper. The weather forecast calls for good camping, be sure to reserve your site in advance.

Best Cat Spots: Shadow Cove and the buoy line.

Best Cat Bait: Mackerel, Use scent liberally

Best Bass Spots: 25 ft on all the points.

Best Bass Lures /bait: Dropshot 4" morning dawn worms in 30+ft. Have a spoon ready when the fish boil and flutter it . They are hitting on the drop.

Water Temp.: 78 degrees on surface.

Notables: Fri., Tommy Berry, El Cajon, 14.0 lb. Catfish, Buoy Line, mackerel.

Prognosis: Please note the change in hours for the upcoming weekend as Night Fishing has come to an end. Our trout season will begin as soon as the water temp is below 74 degrees. Historically that is the 3rdweek of October; in the meantime expect the cat bite to improve.

The Lake Jennings Free Fishing University will be teaching catfishing on Sunday at 1PM. For more details, you can call Hugh Marx at (619)390-1300 or visit us online at www.lakejennings.org. Hello from Your Lake Jennings. It did not matter what you fished for. In all likelihood you had to stop by the fish market if you wanted a fish fry. A few cats were caught but there were no reported limits. The same for the bass. Bass crashing shad aren't. Best Cat Spots: Cloister Cove, the buoyline off Eggert Point.
