Hello from Your Lake Jennings. It did not matter what you fished for. In all likelihood you had to stop by the fish market if you wanted a fish fry. A few cats were caught but there were no reported limits. The same for the bass. Bass crashing shad aren't.

Best Cat Spots: Cloister Cove, the buoyline off Eggert Point.

Best Cat Bait: Mackerel, Use scent liberally

Best Bass Spots: 25 ft on all the points.

Best Bass Lures /bait: 10" worms or creature baits in the natural colors.

Water Temp.: 78 degrees on surface.

Notables: No quick limits or fish over 3 lbs. reported.

Prognosis: The cats are deeper. Boaters and those bankies who can cast a country mile will have the best success! There are only a few weeks left for night fishing. Our last weekend is Labor Day weekend. We will be open Labor Day from 5:30 AM to 8:30 PM. The Lake Jennings Free Fishing University will be teaching catfishing on Sunday at 1PM. For more info: Hugh Marx (619)390-1300 or visit us online at www.lakejennings.org . Night fishing every Friday and Saturday until Labor Day. Lake Jennings Campground now has WiFi at every campsite.
