Hello from your Lake Jennings! We would like to tell you that the fishing is red hot, BUT we would be lying. It is scratchy at best for all species. Cats are being found shallow but are also being found at the buoyline. The majority of trout are suspended but some are being caught in the backs of the coves. Bass, mostly males, are along the bank. The bigger girls have moved out to 15' to 25'.

Best Trout Spots: All the coves and the concrete steps.
Best Trout Lures/Bait: Salmon Peach Power Bait.
Best Catfish Spots: The bird trees.
Best Catfish Bait: Mackerel or nightcrawlers. Use scent liberally.
Best Bass Spots: 25 ft on all the points.
Bass Lures/Bait: Shiners and d/s 4" morning dawn worms.

Notables: No fish over 3 lbs. or limits under 1 hour.
Prognosis: Same as last week. The bass are almost done with the majority of fish in post-spawn. The trout inventory remains high. Boaters are outfishing bankies because the trout are suspended in the middle of the lake. Our first catfish plant will be mid-May, but you don't have to wait because there is a large carryover from last year.

Water Temperature: 67 degrees on the surface.
Current Schedule: Lake Jennings will be open this Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 6:00 a.m. - 8:00 p.m.
Coming Soon: Night fishing starts May 21, 2010!

FREE Fishing Classes Open to the Public!
Lake Jennings Fishing University will hold a fishing class this Sunday at 1:00 p.m. The classes concentrate on what is working best. This week's class will talk about catfishing. Most importantly, the classes are FREE! Ranger Hugh will be the professor.
