Hello from Your Lake Jennings: Sorry about the lack of information for the last 2 weeks but I could not get out of bed to write this. I will admit that up until a few days ago the rumors of my demise seemed to be true but now appear to be exaggerated. What did die is the hot bites. We are raising the lake about 5 inches a day and that has everything trying to figure out where to go and what to do. The best trout spots have been Eagle and Sentry Points but the average is less than 1 trout per rod. The bass bite is about 1 bass per 8 hr. day and no clear pattern. Catfish are still prowling the deeps but it seems the moving water has got them congregating around the tower out of casting range We know that there is a big bunch of trout at the tower because the ospreys are experiencing limit fishing.
Best Trout Spots: Eagle and Sentry Points.
Best Trout Lures / Bait: inflated nightcrawlers.
Best Cat Spots: The dam buoyline and Cloister Cove.
Best Cat Bait: Chicken livers, mackerel and night crawlers. Use scent liberally
Best Bass Spots: None
Best Bass Lures /bait: None
Water Temp. 54 degrees on surface.
Notables: No fish over 3 lbs or limits under 1 hour.
Prognosis: We will be open no Martin Luther King Day. Our 13th trout plant is on schedule for Tues. Jan. 12th . We will stock 1000lbs. every week for the next 11 weeks.
