Hello from your Lake Jennings! On Thanksgiving Day a lot of our anglers had a lot to be thankful for. Trout limits were caught all over the lake. Friday wasn't quite as good. Saturday was a washout and Sunday was just ok. Bass followed that pattern with d/s worms on the steep banks in 20 to 30 ft. of water. The cats continue to bite well for those targeting them but you need a boat to fish deep.

Best Trout Spots: Cactus Patch, fishing float and Shadow Cove.
Best Trout Lures/Bait: Salmon peach Power Bait.

Best Catfish Spots: The dam buoyline and Hermit Cove buoyline.
Best Catfish Bait: Chicken livers, mackerel, and night crawlers. Use scent liberally.

Best Bass Spots: Target the steep banks, fish downhill with Morning Dawn or Aaron's Magic into 25 ft. of water.
Best Bass Lures/Bait: 6" worms.

Notables: No fish over 3 lbs. reported or limits under 1 hour.

Prognosis: Our 7th trout plant is on schedule for Thursday, December 3rd. We will stock 1,000lbs. every week for the next 17 weeks. Don't forget that some of the best catfishing of the year is right now!!!! Just fish deep. Information about the Sierra Bow Trout can be found at http://www.mtlassentrout.com/sierrabow.html.

Water Temperature:64 degrees on the surface.

Current Schedule: We'll be open this Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 5:45 a.m. - 5:15p.m.

FREE Fishing Classes Open to the Public!

Lake Jennings Fishing University will hold a fishing class this Sunday at 1:00 p.m. The classes concentrate on what is working best. This week's class will talk about trout fishing. Most importantly, the classes are FREE! Ranger Hugh will be the professor.

Hello from Your Lake Jennings: We are open Thanksgiving Day at 5:45 AM. The trout bite has finally picked up. We had limits come from the Cactus Patch, fishing float, and Shadow Cove. Short leaders and salmon peach Power Bait were the hot tickets. The limits are not fast. 4 hours is the quickest limit we know of. Bass have slowed down. There is still some action on the bank early and late with the fish...... Read More

Hello from Your Lake Jennings: We saw lots of mixed bags this week . Trout and cats were being caught in the same spots on both Power Bait and nightcrawlers. Half Moon and Hermit Cove produced a couple of limits but mostly it was onesies and twosies. There was no one spectacular bait. Shore anglers did slightly better than boaters. Almost every bass was earned. Throw on the bank early and late the fish in 15 to 25...... Read More
