Stocking: The lake was stocked with 1,000 pounds of catfish last week. The next stocking of 1,000 pounds is the week of September 7th! The total stock so far is 5,500 pounds. A total of 8,500 pounds will be stocked this season with catfish stockings concluding in October.

What’s the catch? The catfish bite continues to be prolific. The best action has been happening during the evening and nighttime hours, when temperatures cool down and the fish become more active. Try mackerel, chicken liver, shrimp or dip baits fished on the bottom-let your bait soak. Focus on deeper water, drop-offs, points and areas along the buoy line.
Bass are still biting, with the best action coming during the early morning and evening. Work rocky points, submerged structure and weed edges with shiners, drop-shot rigs, Texas-rigged plastics, jigs and swimbaits. As the summer heat continues, move into deeper water once the sun gets high.

The lake will continue to be open until midnight on Fridays and Saturdays through October.

Tight lines, and don't forget to share your catch with us using #LakeJennings!

Conditions: The aerator has been turned on. The water temperature at the surface is 80.7degrees. Temps throughout the water column are stable. The sun is rising at 6:20 a.m. and setting at 7:19 p.m. The next new moon is September 10th.
