Lake Jennings Fishing Report

Stocking: The lake was stocked with 1,000 pounds of catfish the week of July 27th. The next stocking of 1,000 pounds is this week! The total stock so far is 4,500 pounds. A total of 8,500 pounds will be stocked this season.

What’s the catch? We recently added another 1,000 pounds of catfish, giving anglers plenty of fresh fish to target. With multiple stockings throughout the summer, the catfish bite has been consistently productive.

Anglers are finding success with chicken liver, mackerel, shrimp, and dip baits, particularly along deeper shorelines and by boat near the buoy lines. As temperatures rise during the day, the evening bite continues to be the best time to target catfish.

Lake Jennings offers extended hours for night fishing (open until midnight!) on Fridays and Saturdays during the summer.

Conditions: The aerator has been turned on. The water temperature is holding steady at 80.7 degrees. Temps throughout the water column are stable. The sun is rising at 6:15 a.m. and setting at 7:27 p.m. The next new moon is September 10th.
