Stocking: Catfish Opener is Memorial Day weekend where 1,500 pounds of catfish from Alpine Fishery will be stocked. We’ll stock a total of 8,500 pounds of catfish through October. With catfish season comes night fishing every Friday and Saturday night. The lake will remain open until midnight on Fridays and Saturdays beginning Memorial Day weekend.

What’s the Catch? We’ve had reports of solid action for bluegill and bass across the lake.

Bluegill fishing has been especially productive along the shoreline and around submerged structure. Anglers are finding success using mealworms, red worms, and small jigs under a float. The warmer weather has the panfish active.

Bass anglers are reporting steady bites during the early morning and evening hours.

Bass are holding near rocky points, brush, and deeper ledges as they transition into late spring patterns. Soft plastics, creature baits, and swimbaits have been producing quality fish, with a few larger bass mixed in.

Catfish action continues to improve as water temperatures rise. The lake’s channels and deeper coves are producing fish on mackerel, chicken liver, and dip baits.
