Stocking: The next stocking is this week! Another 1,500 pounds of rainbow trout will be stocked. The stock can arrive any day Monday - Thursday. The lake was last stocked with 2,000 pounds the week of December 12th.

What's the catch? Trout limits were pulled from Hermit and Siesta Coves. Mini jigs and Hookup Baits were doing the heavy lifting. They'll bite in the shallows early. As the day progresses and the sun rises, try casting out 20-30 feet as they will move away from the shallows into deeper water later in the day. The best live bait for trout is meal and wax worms, but there was also a report of trout biting on shiners last week. Bass and catfish were reported from the campground shoreline last week.

Fishing Licenses: Licenses for 2023 are on sale now and valid 365 days after date of purchase if purchased after January 1, 2023. The annual fee is $58.58. Fishermen 16 and over are required to have a valid California state fishing license. CLICK HERE to purchase your 2023 license.

Conditions: The water temperature around the boat dock is 63 degrees. Looks like rain is in store for much of the week, but don't let that stop you from coming out for a session. Overcast, rainy days are best for catching! For a complete weather report in Lakeside, click HERE.
