Stocking: This season 8,750 pounds of catfish were stocked. This is the last weekend to take advantage of the stock before weekly night fishing ends for the season!
Trout season is coming soon! This year trout will be coming from Wright's Rainbows in Idaho. As soon as the water temperature is optimum, we will set a date for the opener usually mid to late November.

What's the catch?  This weekend limits of Bluegill were pulled near Hermit Cove by boat. They were biting on wax worms and pieces of nightcrawler. The tower buoy line was the spot for catfish with fishermen reeling in 3-4 pound cats. We heard that catfish were also biting in Sentry and Shadow Coves as well. Mackerel and dip bait were the baits of choice. No bass bites reported this weekend, but rangers recommend following the schools of Bluegill near big rock and Cactus Patch. Because the district is drawing water, fishing is best by boat right now. Don't forget to send us pics of your catch! You can tag us @lakejennings on social media or email them to ranger@lakejennings.org.

Conditions: The surface temperature is around 77 degrees. The district is drawing from the lake again, which means please be mindful of exposed vegetation and rocks when boating. The sun is rising around 6:50 a.m. and setting about 6:20 p.m. New moon is October 25th, so this weekend should be nice and dark for night fishing. Make sure you have a full-sized lantern.
