What's the catch? The bass bite was active in Hermit Cove and near big rock this weekend. Overcast skies are great for bass fishing! On cloudy days, bass are more aggressive so choose moving baits like spinnerbaits to attract a bite. Fast moving baits are a good rule of thumb when fishing in warm water conditions during the summer months. No reports of Bluegill or Redear this weekend, but they're usually hanging out in Cloister or the shoreline near the t-dock. They may have taken shelter with the bass being so active.
Don't forget to send us pics of your catch! You can tag us @lakejennings on social media or email them to ranger@lakejennings.org.

Conditions: The surface temperature is around 80.1 degrees. With the water draw last month, there is more shoreline to fish! The rangers are working to get some of the tulles cleared to create even more fishable shoreline. New moon is the last weekend in September. The days are already getting shorter. The sun is rising around 6:25 a.m. and setting about 7:09 p.m. For a complete weather report in Lakeside, click HERE.

Catfish Stocking
Catfish season is drawing to a close soon! Don't miss out on the last few stockings of the season. Fishermen who didn't listen to the weather reports and fished the lake this weekend took advantage of the 1,000 pounds of catfish that was put into the lake earlier this week. The hungry stock was biting on mackerel, garlic nightcrawlers, and liver preserves. At sunset, the cats are on the move looking for a meal. We heard about bites from the campground shoreline, Siesta Cove and Half Moon Cove.
