Returning Trips

  • Update 3:00 PM The Tribute just called in from their 1.5 Day trip with 13 Bluefin weighing up to 110 pounds and 10 of which are over 100 pounds! Captain Tyler recommends having 60-80# test for the sinker rig, with a 2/0 or 3/0 hook and a 4 ounce torpedo sinker.

  • The Pacific Voyager returned from their 2.5 Day Trip with 45 bluefin. They had fish ranging from 20 to 200 pounds.
  • The Voyager returned from their 1.5 Day Trip with 18 bluefin.
  • The Polaris Supreme put limits of Bluefin on the boat for their Three Day Trip, with fish up to 185 pounds.
We've been seeing an extremely wide range of sizes on these fish. Be prepared to fish anything from a 30 pound rig up to a 100 pound rig.

Saturday Updates The San Diego wrapped up their Full Day trip with 42 Bluefin for their 35 anglers. Captain Matt recommends having a 40# Flyline outfit for fishing the live bait, as well as a 60# rig with some 80-100# leader for the sinker rig and jigs.
