The trout action is good following the first of three consecutive weekly plants. Chelo Fisher of Oceanside had big fish of the week honors with his 8.90# trout caught on a mini-jig in Oakvale Cove. Preston Garst came in a very respectable second with his 6.40# rainbow caught on an inflated nightcrawler in Boat Dock Cove. Mini-jigs, inflated nightcrawlers, and rainbow powerbait have been the top baits.
Catfish can be found near the west buoys. Lake Wohlford cats like chicken liver, shrimp, or cut mackerel.
Crappie are being caught in small numbers from shore. Crappie bite mini-jigs and live golden shiners. They prefer the cover of shade and typically only come in close early in the morning or late in the day.
