Opening day saw a great turnout and a good many fish were caught over the weekend and into the following week. Thank you to all of our anglers for braving the cold and showing their support. We are stocking again this week, and yet again between Christmas and New Year’s Day. The top baits for trout are salmon eggs, inflated nightcrawlers, or powerbait.

Limits of catfish are still being reported. Lake Wohlford cats are most frequently caught using chicken liver, shrimp, or cut mackerel.

Small to medium sized bass can be found around structure. With the re-introduction of trout to the menu it’s an excellent time to try a big swimbait in hopes of landing a lunker bass.

We have learned a thing or two in all that time, and that is why...... Read More
