Hello from Your Lake Jennings: Do you like being humbled by largemouth bass????? Then Lake Jennings is your lake. Most bassers had a hard time throwing the skunk out of the boat. The few that caught fish indicated that there was no clear pattern. Dynamite worked best but in keeping with our mantra of being a quiet and peaceful lake the dynamiters' were told to stop! The cat bite continues to be sporadic with more fish being caught deep. One boater reported that his catch of 3 cats came from 117 ft of water. Worms continue to be the top choice.
Best Cat Spots: The dam buoyline and Hermit Cove.
Best Cat Bait: Night crawlers. Use scent liberally.
Best Bass Spots: Leadcore trolling 5 colors or on the points with 4" worms or jigs.
Best Bass Lures /bait: # 7 shad rap at 50 ft..
Water Temp. Still 78 to 79 degrees on surface.
Notables: No fish over 3 lbs or limits under 1 hour.
Prognosis: Remember that we do not open until 5 PM on Friday. The delightfully cool nights help ameliorate the pain when there is nothing on the stringer. This can't last.
The Lake Jennings Free Fishing University will be teaching cat fishing......

Lake Jennings Fish Report

The bite for cats got worse even though there was 1000 lbs of cats were planted Friday morning. Sunday morning around 8:30 there was a decent bite back in Hermit Cove but only if you had crawlers. The bass continue to be difficult and if topwater is your thing fugetaboutit. Fishing deep or trolling leadcore. This should change when we start dropping the water level. That...... Read More

Lake JenningsHello from Your Lake Jennings: Fishing for bass has been suspended!! The only ones getting bit are lead core trollers at 4 colors using a # 7 Rapala Shad Rap! Cats are starting their transition out to deeper water. Fishing the shallows in the coves are still producing but not in the numbers that we have seen in previous weeks. Some cats are also being caught in 80 ft. of water. Hit and miss on the...... Read More
