Hello from Lake Jennings! The trout have started to move out to deeper water. A few limits were caught out by the buoy line by drifting night crawlers down to 100 ft. Bass are scattered. Most are being caught off the points in 20 ft. of water. A few are being caught along the bank. Dropshotting by far is producing the greatest numbers. Swim baits aren't! Cats are being caught around the bird trees and the floating boathouse. Speaking of catfish: Night fishing starts Memorial Day weekend. Starting May 22, you can fish until midnight on Friday and Saturday. We will also be open on Memorial Day!

Best Trout Spots: Sentry Point, Eagle Point and Cactus Patch.
Best Trout Lures/Bait: Inflated crawlers on a 2 ft. leader dipped in scent.

Best Catfish Spots: Bird trees and floating boathouse.
Best Catfish Bait: Night crawlers and mackerel. Use scent liberally.

Best Bass Spots: Every 15 ft. along the shore.
Best Bass Lures/Bait: Drop-shooting 10" black Power Worms and 4" margarita mutilator worms.

Notables: No fish reported over 3 lbs. or limits under 1 hour.

Prognosis: April is always a great month for the bass. Even though we have had our last trout plant the inventory remains high and traditionally remains good until mid-May.

Water Temperature: 65 to 67 degrees on surface.

Current Schedule: We'll be open this Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 6:00 a.m. ??? 8:00 p.m.

FREE Fishing Classes Open to the Public!

Lake Jennings Fishing University will hold a fishing class this Sunday at 1:00 p.m. The classes concentrate on what is working best. This week's class will talk about bait fishing for trout. Most importantly, the classes are FREE! Ranger Hugh will be the professor.

Hello from Lake Jennings! We will be open on Christmas Day and every day until Jan. 4th. Come try out your new gear. The best bet for making the frying pan stink is the trout. Bait fishermen have the edge. Shadow Cove and Sentry Point are the best bets but you need a boat. Shore anglers are hitting the concrete steps and Cactus Patch. Crawlers are what they want. Some cats have been caught in the muddier water in the backs of the...... Read More

Hello from Lake Jennings! Most fish in the lake had lockjaw. A few nice trout came from Cactus Patch and the Hermit Cove buoy line on crawlers. Interestingly crawlers produced more cats than mackerel. Normal incoming storms will boost a bite but Sunday was the worst day of the weekend. The lake is on the rise having come up 4' in the last week. This has pulled most of the bass off the bank into 20 to 40 ft....... Read More
