Murray Reservoir Fishing Report

Fishing has slowed down a bit the past couple days due to the weather and extreme humidity. The bass are out chasing the Threadfin Shad off of the main points in the mornings ( Padre Pt, Cowles Pt & San Carlos Pt). Be sure to throw top water walking adits during this period! There have been some rather large bass being caught on Bluegill pattern walking antis that were approximately 6 + pounds this last wee. Be sure to focus on trying to cover water! During this time it is important to throw baits like crank baits, square baits, spinner baits, swim baits, and most important the underspin. This seems to be the most productive bait in the past week without a doubt. The bluegill are everywhere after this spawn but have been primarily caught near cover the like the tulles, the fishing pair and bat the fence in Alvarado Bay. The best bait seems to be the red worms but mealworms and wax worms are working great!
