Hello from Your Lake Jennings: The rain put a damper on our anglers enthusiasm Thursday and Friday. The bright sunny days did the same thing to the fish on Saturday and Sunday.

Best Trout Spots: Shadow Cove, Shadow Cove and Cactus Patch
Best Trout Lures / Bait: Inflated crawlers on a 4 ft. leader dipped in scent and drifted down the water column using a water float.

Best Cat Spots: The dam buoyline.
Best Cat Bait: Chicken livers have been a "secret" bait for some who prefer to remain anonymous. Night Crawlers. Use scent liberally.

Best Bass Spots: Off the points using swimbaits or dropshotting in 25 to 35 ft. water.
Best Bass Lures /Bait: Texas rigged 9" to 11" worms in 30 ft worked better than everything else.

Water Temperature: 67 to 68 degrees on surface.

Notables: No limits under 1 hour or fish over 3 lbs. reported.

Prognosis: Mt Lassen will add another 1000 lbs. of trout on Tuesday of this week. Still the best chance for trout is from a boat at Shadow Cove. Cats require that you fish deep. Open on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, 5:45 AM to 5:15 PM. Prime times for both cats and bass are 5:30 AM to 9:00 AM and 4:30 to dark thirty.

The Lake Jennings Free Fishing University will be teaching bait fishing for trout at 1 PM on Sunday.

Lake Jennings Weekly Catch and Release Hello from Lake Jennings! Don't forget we are open Thanksgiving Day. Catch this: big trout are being caught on deep diving crank baits like Bomber Fat A's and Shad Raps in Shadow Cove.
