In order to protect Wohlford from invasive exotic Quagga mussels, there is still a temporary ban on private water craft and private equipment that could have been exposed to mussels. Restricted equipment now includes private boats, canoes, kayaks, float tubes, trolling motors, fish finders, anchors, and other equipment that contact the water.

Channel Catfish have been hitting cut mackerel, shrimp, chicken liver, and night crawlers near the South Shore Rockpile and the east end of Wohlford. Jack Ferguson of Laguna Beach landed the largest Catfish taken this past weekend. Jack's 12#12 Channel Cat struck a black plastic worm off Senior Shoreline.

Roy Hamind of Escondido caught a 9#4 Florida Largemouth Bass that hit a watermelon-colored sinko lure off Senior Shoreline.

The Crappie have moved into deeper waters. Jerry Harris of Riverside caught a 1#8 and a 1# 7 Crappie using live shiners for bait in Boat Dock Cove.

Trout action is over for this season as Wohlford waters are too warm for year round Trout survival. Trout will be restocked on December 13, 2008.
