Water Level: Low
Launch Conditions: PRIVATE WATER CRAFTS ARE CURRENTLY BANNED
In order to protect Wohlford from invasive exotic Quagga mussels, there is still a temporary ban on private water craft and private equipment that could have been exposed to mussels. Restricted equipment now includes private boats, canoes, kayaks, float tubes, trolling motors, fish finders, anchors, and other equipment that contact the water.
Bass conditions remain productive. Swim bait lures, plastic worms, and live golden shiners are working best for the Bass now.
Channel Catfish have been hitting cut mackerel, chicken liver, night crawlers, and shrimp in the channel at the east end of Wohlford. Gary and Keith Greetis of Valley Center both caught limits of Channel Catfish on chicken liver off Senior Shoreline; the largest was 1#8. Scott Osborn, also of Valley Center, landed an albino 2#5 Channel Catfish using a live golden shiner for bait in Boat Dock Cove.
The Crappie have moved into deeper water. Small golden shiners and finger jigs have been the preferred baits. Small-sized Bluegill are hitting red worms in Oakvale Cove.
Carp action has picked up and dough balls are the preferred bait. Trout action is over for this season as Wohlford waters are currently too warm for Trout survival.
