Hello from Your Lake Jennings: We had another swimbait bass. Some males are constructing nests in the back of Hermit Cove and a couple of big girls have been seen the rush to the bank is not happening yet. The majority of bass being caught are in the 15 to 25 ft. range and are being difficult. The good bite is the trout and finally a few trolling fish are being brought to the dock. Bait is still best! Not many anglers are going for cats. A few are being caught by trout anglers on crawlers.

Best trout spots: Eagle Point, Otto Point and Half Moon Cove.
Best trout bait: ??Rainbow Power Bait or inflated crawlers fished with a water float.
Best trout lures: silver Kastmasters and gold Rapala's

Best cat spots: Dam buoy line and Hermit Cove.??
Best cat bait: ??Bring chicken livers or we have mackerel and fish deep.

Best Bass Spots: Close to shore on the points.
Best Bass Lures/bait: crawdads, jigs, lizards, swimbaits.

Notables: ??Fri., Arden Hanline Jr., Spring Valley, 13-8 largemouth, swimbait, boat dock rockpile. Sat., Larry Laumann, La Jolla, 3-0 rainbow, Kastmaster, Eagle Point.
??
Prognosis:. The warm weather forecast for this week should really start the bass moving to the bank. We should see a frantic run for the banks during the new moon next weekend.. The cats should also be moving to the shallows and trees anytime soon. The "Trout Nazi"
aka Ranger Hugh says "No trout stock this week!" but this the inventory is still high and the bite is on!

Lake Jennings Fishing University free fishing classes will be covering bait fishing and Trout Teaser minijigs for trout. ??This Sunday at 1:00 PM.

Hello from Your Lake Jennings: The trout bite has moved closer to shore. Lures like Kastmasters are starting to work for shore casters but the trollers are smelling skunks. The bass are wishy-washy. A few bass came from the bank. A few bass came from the flats. Some could be seen suspended but no sustainable pattern developed. Channel cats are in Hermit Cove and being caught by bassers throwing plastics and crawdads. The buoyline at Shadow Cove casting towards the...... Read More

Assembled by author and local fishing legend Jim Putney, it will have highlighted areas for specific target species.?? It will be updated seasonally as the fish move. Less exciting was the fishing overall. The bass bite was a very early and very late affair. No swimbait fish reported. The trout were decidedly more difficult even though Mt....... Read More
