Hello from Lake Jennings! We will be open on Labor Daqy 5:30 AM to 8:30 PM. The cats continue to be the best bet for putting fish in the frying pan. The key is to fish deep. The bass are in their usual Fall mode which is stacking up on the points in 30 to 40 ft. of water. No topwater action.

Best Trout Spots: None

Best Trout Lures/Bait: None

Best Catfish Spots: Both the dam and the Hermit Cove buoy lines.

Best Catfish Bait: Shrimp or mackerel. Use scent liberally.

Best Bass Spots: Dawn and dusk tight on the bank. Daylight finds them in 20 to 30 feet off the points chasing shad.

Best Bass Lures/Bait: 4" Pink worms dropshotted or 16" BIG worms Texas rigged.

Notables: Sat., Dan Heiser, El Cajon, 14-8 blue cat, mackerel, buoy line. Sun., Larry Harmon, Lakeside, 32-3 blue cat, Sentry Point, mackerel.

Prognosis: Labor Day weekend is our last hurrah for night fishing. Starting September 5h, we eill return to our 1/2 hr. before sunrise to 1/2 hr. after sunset schedule on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. We will stock catfish one last time for the season on September 18th.

Water Temperature: 80-82 degrees.

Holiday Weekend/Last Chance For Night Fishing Schedule: We will be open Friday from 5:00 p.m. - 12:00 a.m., Saturday from 5:30 a.m.- 8:30 p.m. and Monday (Labor Day) from 5:30 a.m - 8:30 p.m.

Discounted Sunday Boat Rental: We have a twilight special for our motorboats. After 4:00 PM on Sundays, motorboats can be rented for $20.00. That gives you over 4 hours of primetime fishing.

Lake Jennings Fishing University will hold a fishing class this Sunday at 1:00 p.m. The classes concentratwe on what is working best. This week's class will talk about fishing cats. Most importantly, the classesa rea FREE! Ranger Hugh will be the professor.

Hello from Lake Jennings! There was a very good cat bite during our night fishing if you were fishing from a boat. Shore anglers did not fair as well. Bass action improved. Dropshotting plastics off the fishing float. The top water action isn't. Best bet for bass is drifting shiners deep.
